Michael is dedicated to working with agricultural producers in the Inland Northwest to create native habitats that restore biodiversity, enhance ecosystem services, and support pollinators and other beneficial insects. He holds a master’s degree in plant ecology and remote sensing from Eastern Washington University, where he studied the effects of large-scale dam removal on plant communities in Olympic National Park. Prior to this, Michael worked as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry in Michigan, but he chose to transition to a fulfilling career in conservation and restoration of native flora and fauna with the Xerces Society.
