Conversations about Conservation – Prairie City, IA

August 28th, 2019
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Prairie City, IA

Join Sarah Nizzi, Farm Bill Pollinator Conservation Planner and NRCS Partner Biologist with the Xerces Society, for this workshop hosted by the Iowa Farmers Union on conservation practices. The discussion will include a demonstration of the Resource Stewardship Evaluation Tool and how you can access this free service to identify the best bang-for-your buck strategies specific to your land and how you farm. Then, join in a panel discussion to learn about neonicotinoid seed coatings, discover how they can impact pollinators populations, and explore other wallet-friendly ways to manage pests. The day will also include time to meet other farmers and discuss your challenges and ideas over a shared meal. This event is free to attend and will be followed by a light supper.
