August 23rd, 2019
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Scooter’s Farm of Woodmont
Hollis, NH

Join Eric Venturini, Pollinator Conservationist & NRCS Partner Biologist with the Xerces Society, for “Good Bugs, Bad Bugs: Using Insectary Strips to Promote Biocontrol on Farms.” Scooter’s Farm of Woodmont owner and operator, Mike Madden, has installed annual insectary strips in all of his orchard alleyways, native bee boxes, and is in the process of establishing a perennial wildflower meadow to promote both beneficial insects and pollinators. Attendees will have the opportunity to see these plantings first hand, listen to Mike’s account of the process, get updated on recent research on insectary plantings from UNH and take part in hands-on activities to learn more about the beneficial insects working hard to combat pests.
