Making the Case for Invertebrate Conservation: Building Habitat on Working Landscapes

February 4
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM PST / 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST / 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CST / 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST

There are many reasons to create habitat to support pollinators or beneficial insects on farms, ranches or forests. In this talk, Mace Vaughan, Xerces Pollinator Program Co-Director, will share research and case studies about the economic, wildlife, and secondary conservation benefits of increasing the number of beneficial insects on working landscapes. These potential benefits include increased crop pollination, reduced pest pressure, healthier game and song bird populations, and even reduced soil erosion or improved water quality.
