Lea Van Es is a pollinator habitat specialist based out of the Central Valley in California where she helps farmers and growers create pollinator-friendly habitat to promote native species and beneficial insects. Lea previously worked with an ag-tech startup that implemented in-hive technology to monitor honeybee activity during crop pollination. She also has experience working with habitat restoration nonprofits throughout the Central Valley, managing invasive riparian species and promoting native habitat. She enjoys the opportunity to combine agriculture and native plants in her role at Xerces, and being able to see the positive impacts on native pollinators.
