A legal victory has paved the way for a large federal agency to rethink their land management practices. We need your help to support stronger conservation measures in their new plan.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture grasshopper spray program employs toxic insecticides to kill grasshoppers and Mormon crickets on Western rangelands. In a typical year, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) applies insecticides via aerial spraying over hundreds of thousands of acres of western lands, sometimes treating millions of acres. This puts native pollinators and other wildlife at risk.

Thanks to the legal victory, APHIS now must write a new management plan to rethink its pesticide-centered approach for grasshopper management. With your help, we can make a difference. We know that APHIS can do more to protect pollinators, birds and ecosystems, including aquatic areas and sensitive habitats. We also know the program needs better  information sharing and transparency. It is critical that they hear from people like you who care about the issue of pesticide use on public lands.

Join us at this webinar to learn how you can weigh in to help protect western rangelands and the birds, pollinators and other wildlife who need healthy habitat.

This webinar will be recorded, and the recording made available to on Xerces' YouTube channel. Closed Captioning will be available during this webinar.
