Join the Iowa Bumble Bee Atlas for a bioblitz field day at Effigy Mounds National Monument! This event is a great opportunity to learn how to use an insect net, practice identifying and photographing bees, and connect with fellow participants.
Come join scientists and park staff to learn how to identify bumble bees, survey, and report as part of the Bumble Bee Atlas. The goal is to expand the non-lethal Bumble Bee Atlas surveys into national parks. Participants should bring water and snacks and dress for off-trail prairies and woodlands. The day will start at the park visitor center. Registration is not required.
